I like the ricochet profile better

Is there any difference between any of the Kookaburra bats, save for the Bubble. All look the same to me - you're better off choosing one on colour!!

Why not save yourself some money and buy an Aldred, Red Ink etc - you'll get a superb bat for half the price ;-)

Which colour do you prefer? That's the only difference between the kookaburra "ranges"

I've only owned one Kook, but they wouldn't be my first choice personally.

I agree with jamesisapayne, if you are not fixed on getting a kook, go for a H4L, B3, BB, Aldred or Red Ink. All top notch!

Kooks are not great bats right now. I very much agree with above.

Are you looking at a Kooka because of the 'bird' or because you're liking the quality of the 'Players'?

I saw some early 2014/15 demo models in the Players edition here in Australia. As these were demo bats, to show to retailers, they were the best of the best.
I was pretty impressed with the quality. The Kahuna was sensational and a mate bought the Xenon which he was really impressed with.

However, my personal view on Kookas aren't a great option. You're paying first rate for a second rate product. I believe (don't quote me on it) that even the Players bats are also made in India. Not that India is a bad place for cricket stuff, quite the reverse.

The equation i put to you though, for the same out of pocket expense, you can get a H4L, Aldred, Red Ink, Affinity etc, etc where you can actually talk to the person making your bat and understand the care they put in.

Final question - Do you want a lump of timer shaped into a bat, or a cricket bat purposefully made, from individually selected quality timber, crafted into a blade to dominate any attack by a master craftsman?

Gee some fluff gets spouted here, it's as though because someone is a small batmaker they can't produce an average stick. Looking at what gets advertised on here for re-sale, a large % are "custom bats" Nothing against any bat makers, it's something I would have loved to have done at some stage but I think it gets forgotten how small a part of the cricket world this forum is. 95% of players don't complicate it the way things get here, if it feels good, responds well and is in the budget punters are happy.
