Quintic performance lane @ Edgbaston
« on: October 30, 2014, 11:56:04 PM »

I attended a great evening tonight at Edgbaston where Warwickshire and Quintic were show casing the performance lane in their cricket centre.  Paul Hurrion guided everyone through the Quintic software, a package I use, but this was with a difference - six static high speed synchronised cameras capturing the action in the nets at around 100 frames per second! I have always thought we are fortunate to have one high speed camera but this was something else. Footage available to view on a relay so you bowl and can then can see the three angles as soon as you get to the back of the net, similarly batters play the ball and can then see in super slow mo what they have done. I think the idea is this facility will be open to us all - definitely something to consider for anyone who doesn't have access to high speed video analysis!

"Old textbooks" Ahem!

They are so old, one of the maths books has "Pythagorus woz 'ere" scribed in it...

...But as the government continues to underfund education, and tries to return us to the 1950s, just remember - Us teachers never work hard enough, we are only in it for the holidays and enjoy the 85p per hour we earn in real terms!

Lol :)

Was an enjoyable evening spent at edgbaston. Glad to see Performance Analysis in its various guises being introduced to the masses.
