Junior Playing Shirts
« on: November 18, 2014, 12:06:32 PM »

Last night I was elected onto the Junior Cricket Committee and then made chairman. And we agreed to try and put feelers out on getting all of the junior players shirts and caps. Now, we were thinking of making these compulsory, funded by either purchased separately, built into the yearly subscription or introducing a training or match fee.

We currently have between 50 and 60 kids turning out every week, so we would be looking at that number of shirts and caps. The order will not be until around mid-February and we would require the shirts delivered by the first games in mid-April.

The senior teams currently play in Stuart Surridge shirts, and it would be nice to have some form of consistency running through the club, but on a quick look last night they proved to be slightly too expensive for juniors who are constantly growing and some families have three children playing in our junior section. The club colours and green and yellow

We agreed to try and source shirts for between £14 and £16 a shirt (ranging from small boys to youths) and £8 and £10 for a cap.

We have a couple of irons in the fire, but I'd rather get them from here and if any sponsors could meet these requirements please drop me a message and I can report back to the committee with my findings.

I would second B3. I used them to sort my midweek team and they are all impressed and happy with what turned up. You may even be able to get a few extras out of them like a bat to raffle.

Upon reflection, I have modified by OP to a more realistic budget for the caps.

Thanks for the B3 tip, I'll add that to the potentials list.

Stay away from MKK, not in your price range but their customer service is nothing short of horrific from my experience

I see Surridge are doing a Century playing shirt which is much cheaper than the normal ones. Its got a modern v neck which is popular with the juniors in my club.

I sourced our senior & junior kit last season. We went with an unbranded kit & used sublimation for the shirt logos as its cheaper than embroidery. Caps were embroidered though & we got an excellent deal from www.cricket-box.co uk. Steve was fantastic to deal with, sent samples & was realistic with lead times. Definitely worth a call.
