The 2015 niggles thread
« on: January 23, 2015, 11:26:00 PM »

Well it's the time of year we're all dusting off our gear and going to the winter nets.
Inevitably there's going to be some bat casualties. Thankfully mine only needed a bit of first aid, but I was gutted to see this tonight!

 :(

Bit of glue and sanding as soon as I got in

And a bit of a sticker transplant to finish

It is indeed mate, was on the inside edge too so god knows how I managed it!

Usually I have OCD and check the bat after each shot, but I thought I was hitting them sweet last night and can't recall any feeling as if they'd come off that bit of the bat (so naturally I didn't check or notice until after the session)

Mine has done exactly this also. i was told by jpgavan cricket to wet your my finger and rub it on the dent (dont wet too much), this brings the dent back to the correct height, so it is expanding it, it worked ok but will never go back to a dead straight line, then just sand down the bits around it to make it as straight as possible

Thanks for that Harry

I was contemplating trying to get the bat level again but hadn't figured out how to do it "safely". Will give your method a go and see how it goes mate  :)
