Trouble putting on a scuff sheet
« on: April 04, 2015, 02:29:50 AM »

Hello guys,

I am sure this would have been addressed a million times before but I am having trouble putting on edge tape/scuff sheet on my bats after oiling. I give my bats a very very light coat of oil and lay it horizontally for about 2 days. And when I try to put the scuff sheet/edge tape even after a week, they wouldn't stick. I tried giving it a light sand but still have issues. I do not over oil the bats, I just use a few drops and apply it all over the face with my fingers. Please advice guys!!!

Never experienced this, the scuff sheet i use sticks hours after oiling, and when using a wax/bat butter or other finishing/buffing compound, the scuff will sometimes stick after minutes.

What sort of sheet are you using?

I have tried using the ones that Shamrock cricket sold here on the forum and Slazenger edge tape. And I have wasted a lot of tape  :(.

May be I should try yours. I have heard good reviews on the Bulldog ones, how would yours compare to theirs?

Can't say for sure as i've never seen it. but customer feedback from those who've had both is that its the same stuff.
