They have started to brand in SS in stickers again, just like the Master SS cricket bats. Not sure what is going on, for a while, only ton branding was used.
This bat is sourced from India. Both SS and TON brand bats are available in that market.
If one buys from UK market then you will only get TON branded ones.

took some pictures with the BB and SS side by side
BB weighs 2-10.5
SS weighs 2-9.9

SS has thicker blade and fuller back.
BB has sharper spine.

both ping really well and have good pick up.

@ WalkingWicket37 - MRF ain't a bat manufacturer, in the business merely for advertising.
Even their softs you'll find cheekily similar to other Indian brands.
Btw, nyone notice the SS being atleast a cm short of the BB in length ??!!

Just a small correction. MRF does make cricket bats. I have been to their workshop in Chennai and checked out a few MRF genius edition bats. These bats are purely for sale to general customers. Most of their sponsored players are mostly using SS or SG, labelled as MRF bats. If you notice either Gautam Gambhir or Sanju Samson bat in the current IPL, you will see SG stickers and SS TON logo on the bat sides. The main bat face and back side features MRF stickers though ...

Isn't the handle the SS Maximus too thin ? Any comparison with BB ? BB for sure has an oval handle, how about SS maximus ? Can't spot from the picture.

I reely doubt that MRF is manufacturing Genius bats at chennai. If anything- it can only be tennis ball bats. Like many many brands, they get their bats job-worked most probably by F.C. Sondhi

For that ignorance in me, I could never make out the difference between a grade 1 v/s a players grade, just by looking at it.  :-[

There are 2 special things that wrap around the handle on all players bats.
