A blast from my past!
« on: May 15, 2015, 07:16:17 AM »

Hi everyone... Today I was sent a facebook link by my eldest son of a video I didn't know existed.  A video from 32 years ago when I was a 14 year old when our then Prime minister Bob Hawke came to our home ground for a hit. He smashed a six... I still remember he used my mates bat, a Duncan Fearnley Magnum.

Great memories of something I thought was long gone and forgotten.

I am standing at 1st slip which you can see during the 2nd over.

I have a photo from this day signed by Bob Hawke. The newspapers were there and my mother wrote to them asking for a copy of it which they sent to her only a few days later. She then sent it to Bob Hawke as a momento but he actually sent it back to her signed in a frame.

Enjoy
