We got a few of our internally mate.
Ask the company you work for and get teammates to do the same. The worse they can do is say no. It helped that our club chairman runs his own company though for our big sponsor!

It's also worth asking your local Indian takeaway/restaurant, cheaper curries and deliveries to your clubhouse on a Saturday evening is never a bad thing  ;)

I think he meant kit sponsorship.....

On the other type of sponsorship, local pubs (if you don't have your own bar) and takeaways are a good bet as already mentioned. I sponsored our shirts his year, offered to buy everyone a shirt who paid their membership. We aren't a massive club but cost a few quid still. Shirts look really good and makes a massive difference having everyone in the same shirt, looks much better. So try and tap up a few players hep have their own business.

I do the sponsorship for my club and there are several different things to look at really. You can look at working together with a local company and help them out in return for good sponsorship. We have our kit sponsorship with the biggest local newspaper in our county. Pubs are other good ones as you can do them a lot of trade for team meals and bar takings etc.

The other thing you can do is have a gamble and try and get in touch with a national company that will offer good money but they are like gold dust and it's a big task to get one of those as you have to do a lot to get through to the directors/managers etc. The shirt/club sponsor is always one of the toughest jobs. To small companies it always seems a lot of money for them to dish out for what they are really getting in return.

We stick with our local companies as there are lots of places we can help out and as long as we do they are happy to turf out about between £250-500. we get about 12 of those and with other small contributions we make about 4k over the year and that's without fundraising.

Hope that helps.
