Kook Players pads and poor protection????
« on: June 19, 2015, 10:47:57 AM »

I have a pair of these, the red ones, if you keepers know which ones i mean. Now i have found over the last couple of weeks when stood up to the stumps to seamers, that the protection level seems to be pretty poor. Now i must admit, i should be catching the ball rather than getting smashed in the pads, but my hands havent really got moving recently so the odd full length ball has hit me flush in the shin. Now our seamers arent rapid, and the pace isnt the problem with me being hit, but when i am hit, in the past old pads have provided good protection, but with these new pads, it hurts like hell, got 3 matching bruises on my right shin, and soon to be another belter on my left shin from wednesday night. So despite being very light pads and looking good, the protection is terrible in my opinion. Has anyone else had the same problem with these pads? Or even any other pads?

Secondly, im looking at some replacements, ideally round £30 max, as i have a habit of pickin up bargains. Quite like the look of the Gray Nics legends, or any other similarly plain ones, that look to offer good protection without being too bulky. So if  anyone could point me in the right direction for some replacements, that woukd be helpful. Rather than altering and customising my current ones

From what I've seen, the Kook gloves and pads have poorer protection than their rivals.

The dewberry spa pads are really high quality and have really good protection and they are in your price range.

If your looking for a good WK Pad for £30, then we have the Ton Test Model at £29.99. They are very lightweight but with no compromise on the protective elements.
