I thought I would start this thread as I have got some photos of my bat being made up by Ryan Kelsall and I can't wait to get hold of it. I saw a few other people singing his praises and it seemed such a good deal for a custom made bat I had to give it a go. I got in touch with my (quite specific) specs which are outlined below and Ryan got back to me with a choice of clefts. Picked one out and he got to work. He has kept me in the loop about progress and sent through the pictures so just waiting for it to be finishes off. He needs to take a bit more weight off to get it down to 2lb 7oz naked weight. It has been a great experience so far and as close as you can get to going and having the bat made in front of you, which of course some of us don't have the time for. I am sure the bat will be great but for now I can thoroughly recommend the experience. I will add pictures of the finished bat when it arrives.
''Keen to investigate getting a new bat shape so would be interested to hear your views and an idea of cost. I'd like to basically have a bit of wood taken out by going for a slightly shorter blade (1/2 inch) and a slightly longer handle (1/2 inch) with a slightly squared off toe though not completely square and a relatively flat face. Bit of a duck bill toe but keeping a fairly thick toe. Minimal concaving. I suppose the Kudos 2 would be the closest shape with a bit of modification. Not too fussed about how pretty the grains are if you have a cleft that is low density and likely to go well. Finished weight to be around 2lb 8-9oz. Would also prefer a fairly oval handle.''
