Puma Iridium toe repair
« on: July 30, 2015, 09:09:31 PM »

A team mate left a 'broken' Puma Iridium 5000 in the colts cupboard at my club, and we found it tonight, a few of us tried it in the nets and it still goes so I am having a go at repairing it. Guy who left it is not really up to speed on bat maintenance, probably why he wrote it off as broken. There is a crack through the toe on his inside edge (he's a leftie so my outside edge), up the face a few cms to the edge, a bit of a wear and tear crack a bit higher, and a couple of narrower splits from the main crack to the side and back of the bat.
Unfortunately I am a muppet and forgot to take pictures before I started working on it, but at present all I have done is take off the scuff sheet, ease open the split up the front and the main bit in the toe and put in pva glue, now it is in the vice in the garage to put it back into place as I had to ease it quite a lot to let the glue get all the way in. Will take some pics before I start to sand it off, will probably have bits of kitchen roll stuck to it, will then do progress pics as I go, hopefully will make progress tomorrow as I am away from Saturday evening.
I fancied having a go at fixing it just because it is good experience, and I need a project because work is really dull atm!
