What do people think, in terms of comfort etc? Seems to offer the most protection, but how is visibility of ball...and does the heavy weight become noticeable?

Used one for the first time yesterday and it does take a bit of getting used to. Smaller opening to look through.

Tried one recently when looking for a new helmet. Found it to be comfortable and visibility was not affected with the two top bars nicely aligned.

Ended up going for the Albion Ultimate 98 though, so can't tell you what its like to wear for a long period.

I'm selling mine if you are interested. I just preferred the fit of my ayrtek tbh but didn't find the weight or the double bar a problem

I've only tried one on in-store, so can't comment on use.

My initial reaction was:
1. The double bar didn't affect visibility at all as one directly aligns to the other (i.e you only see one bar).
2. On my older helmets, I've alway worn the grill fairly close, so didn't notice the fixed grill being a problem.
3. Had an old Elite and a new one side by side. The new version felt significantly heavier on pick up and wearing.
I guess this is relative. I find my 2'11 bat far to heavy after using my 2'8, but the heavy one isn't a problem if i haven't been near the light bat for a while.

Over all, I don't like the aesthetic appeal of the new version, but you don't wear one to look pretty do you!

I have it and don't think it affects the vision and the weight is fine too but if u stay at the crease for a long time then yes u start to feel the weight but that goes with everything the bat the pads and stuff so overall I am happy with it.

I've got a single bar one so can't comment on the alignment of the two bars, but the new ones are significantly heavier, definitely.

However, once you're wearing it you don't notice it at all, i put my old Masuri back on the other day and felt very exposed all of a sudden. The same sort of feeling as when you go from a helmet to a cap mid innings.

I am just surprised that they haven't yet come up with a super light version. Although, they do seem to offer the most protection.

There seems to be some confusion generally, with people thinking that the Elite's double bar design gives you a narrower opening than the Test model with the single bar.

In fact its the opposite...
The single bar from the Test model has been dropped by 5mm, and then a second bar has been added in its place, but further back so that its not in your field of vision, thus giving you the same level of protection, but with an added 5mm of vision.

For me the biggest source of uncertainty is the weight. I am sure the visibility etc is fine. I currently have a super light Adipower, and could be a huge jump in weight.
