New team, new challenges
« on: October 04, 2015, 07:14:31 PM »

Playing and coaching a new team this season in NZ. Coaching our local High school 1st Xl who play in the men's competition. It means that another adult and myself can also play with the lads. Obviously coaching young lads has a few more challenges than coaching men but I am really enjoying the challenge so far. Player management seems to be the best way to go so far.
Anyway, a different challenge awaits us this weekend when we start the season. We are up against arguably the best club side in NZ when at full strength. They will have 5 Northern Districts Knights (Equivalent to an English County side)...2 of these spots are taken by Trent Boult and Corey Anderson. As an opening batsman I am thinking I might give the lads a go opening and being an unselfish person let them have a bat for a change... :D
Looking forward to the new challenges. Any advice on coaching is always appreciated.
