Quick trip to Uzi Birmingham
« on: September 26, 2015, 08:37:14 PM »

After buying the wife lunch I managed to convince her to take a drive up to Uzi Sports. Took a bit of traffic and it wasn't immediately obvious where it was but it was worth the drive.

It's less of a shop and more of cricket centre! It's a very impressive setup. Not only a decent shop but an impressive 5 lane indoor net facility, canteen/eating area, Physio, balcony come sitting area and meeting room. It's an ideal cricket setup and most cricketers would love such a facility. Asad  was a great host and took me for a tour of the Centre and we talked for a good hour or so. Even the wife had a quick net but eventually I got my orders and we had to leave (too soon). Well worth a visit!

You managed to get your wife to net? I tried to get mine to operate a bowling machine once, but she maxed out the pace and shot down beamers! "Trouble in Paradise"

It was pleasure meeting Nick and his wife. Had a good chat and showed him the bats quality we carry. Also saw him facing the paceman bowling machine, i was very impressed with his wife's technique considering she hasn't played before.
Here are some photos I took of Nick, i hope u don't mind sharing these Nick

Wow Asad those stumps must be massive!! Oh sorry just see who was batting lol

Hope you had a good time Nick, but visiting a cricket store with the mrs is a huge no no isn't it, bet you wanted to spend hard earned money on willow but got "the look" if you tried

Looks a great set up Asad, I'll pop up at some point and have a little net

That looks like a fantastic place. I'm going to the Swindon store in a couple of weeks. Will have to make a trip to Birmingham. Might try and get the team to visit just not sure how may would make a 3 hour drive there.

I was wondering if Mr Saunders had lost a few lbs, looking like a top, lower order batsmen with that on drive
