New training aid...
« on: February 19, 2015, 11:38:01 AM »

Just saw this on Twitter. Just looks like a glorified ball and socks...might be a good idea though.

I think that's a great idea. Will definitely help batters get ready before heading on to the pitch. Could even have it for practising at home.

I want one! Glorified ball in a sock or not I think it's a good idea.

Actually, I have a golf practice net somewhere, I could put a ball on a bit of string and make some sort of DIY version if I can find the time

Dont get me wrong it's a great idea...I just think it's something we or our club can do for ourselves and it's virtually inexpensive, rather than buying one.

Can't see it myself. Would have to be cheap or have more money than sense. I could imagine using it once. Cricket ball on a piece of rope = cheaper, more versatile, more mobile, more useful and you don't need a room or another big bag to store it.

If you were desperate for indoor solo fun, how about this:

That is a option but you would have to keep 'teeing' up the ball every shot and it wont move around like a ball on a string does.

I am looking for something i can use in the garden - not got a garage or basement - and need to be able to pack away when not in use. The Puma aid looks like a good option rather than rigging up a home made system - key thing as you say is how much it will retail at.

We are stocking them, not the cheapest at $250 but have sold well. The side netting is the best feature, much easier to use than a ball on a string than can loop over the top or bang into the carport roof.
