PDC Black Friday Bargains
« on: December 07, 2015, 08:09:47 PM »

Thought I would share a couple of pics of these two PDC Black Friday bargains. GM Mogul players grade bats both in a light weight. These from my knowledge are the same as 606 grade bats. Personally very pleased with both of these.
The one on the right is a little heavier at 2.9 bang on the money, half heartwood and lovely tight grains. The other is a beauty though at 2lb 7, it has some silver marks on the back which I saw on the odd bat when working at Salix but can't remember what its called but believe its to do with the soil taken into the willow.

Both tap up well and GM certainly seem to have amended the pressing in the last couple of years as both these and my Aura 808 tap up nicely.
I'm only keeping one of these but really pleased with both these.

Nice looking bats there Chris. I knew your "I've bought all my kit for 2016" was never going to last! :) if you don't mind me asking, how much did they cost?

£65 per bat but if you bought 2 you saved an additional 15% so saved £20 basically so both for £110 plus £3.95 postage.  I have my main kit sorted for next year and I will only use 1 bat in all my league cricket I'll just swap a bot for T20 and any work games etc

Bat a bit. Bowl a bit. Not too bad at point either!

Isn't it iron in the soil. Both bats look great value.

Not sure if iron but sounds like its plausible either way doesn't effect the bat, the uglier ones can at times be the best  :D

I've never had a gm before,  what do you mean by changing in pressing?

This is just my personal opinion but I found GM bats from 2013-2104 season were so hard when new like you could smash them with a mallet and it would hardly leave a mark and they seemed to take so long to open up regardless of the grade or model. But I have had a few over the last 2 seasons and they seem a lot better straight away and play a lot better. This is just my personal opinion as now GM are one of my favourite brands were as before I would almost avoid
