Prodirect..what do you make of this??
« on: December 12, 2015, 06:21:33 AM »

Was just surfing through prodirect cricket and noticed this.

GM mogul players bat reduced from 130 quids?? It doesnt mention youth or anything, it also has a different youth bat listed and gm mogul 303 going for more then that.

I am just not sure what to make of this.

You got excellent bats for tbe price you paid budd....

I took players in a wrong way, sounded to me like the one they had for trott and ross taylor...

But you mentioned that they are at par with 606, i still wonder why the selling price is less then 303...

Why is it called players, I always assumed players  grade  will be above all

Clever marketing of a Pro Direct exclusive model. Players sounds more exclusive than 606, so at the same price point which would you be more likely to go for?

It's the same as the Sports Direct exclusive 3 star called that was Test

Player Edition is the top model.

GN have a bat grade below LE called Players.

In this specific case, i feel it is quite a cheeky, borderline deception tactic from the retailer asking for an exclusive bat with such a name, potentially tricking someone into thinking they are getting a real bargain, the reality though is it is a GM 3 star bat equivalent approximately to a 606.

I bought 4, based on them being cheaper than any other grade 2/3 from a large brand. Recieved 2 for now, posting pictures soon, but the Lazer engraving has appeared to become a dymo sticker instead.. Which looks rubbish.

They put one bat on backorder, and I asked to swap it even for a GN supernova duffle, and they agreed. So ended up with 3 bats and one bag including shipping for around £120. Sold the bats for retail £65 plus shipping being 10, and ended up with a mighty cheap bag..

I agree. And actually kills the crisp look of a GM. Ill let it be up to the owners, whether to remove it or keep it.
Reckon PDC did a number saying it would be laser..

Ping is good though.
