Woodworm Hard Drive
« on: December 22, 2009, 02:15:48 AM »

I've heard many people say that Woodwoorm saw their fate coming and shifted loads of s**t bats before going bust, however I have a Hard Drive Gold which was a great bat. Granted it didn't last too long but that is probably due to the user.

Hopefully getting it tidyed up a bit but I love this bat!

From what I have seen, the newer woodworms seem to be good quality. Had a net with one last year and it seemed decent. Definately an improvement in my eyes.

I used to love Woodworm, I am still using a Globe Premier and a Flame Premier, both relatively new still and both go miles.

i had 2 newer ones, a Hard Drive and a Mega Byte, but both of them planks, i tried to send them back, but they refused (which I couldnt understand at the time), then about a week later they were gone, so it clicked!

To sum up, was a great company, and masters of effective marketing, but they lost their way. Shame really.

this bat still works (when it wants to) but Tom said he'd sand it down for me. I still have an Aytek bat but I prefer this profile as the toe is the middle ;)

What was wrong with the Hard Drive and Mega Bite?

not sure, they just never got going. Maybe they needed longer knocking in, and the willow certainly looked decent enough. Also , i asked for specific weights and got the wrong ones!

As I say, the disappointment was compounded due to the fact that i had such good ones previously. thinking back though, the two good ones  look completely diffrerent to the newer ones in terms of finish and feel, which makes me wonder if they moved manufacturer.

I used my friend's woodworm torch and I don't feel that was any better then my hard drive, IMO.
