My Trip to UZI sports
« on: March 30, 2016, 05:09:36 PM »

Today I went to visit UZI sports which is a short 45 minute drive up the M4 from me. However this is the first time I have ever made the journey. Having played cricket since 2001 I have always brought my kit from online retailers. my bats the last few years anyway from Taunton (m&h) or eBay. However no longer! I am all for supporting local companies and UZI sports seems like a very good one. When I arrived Asad was busy with a customer (which actually turned out to be another forum member) however Asad was very nice and helpful even though he was busy. Once Asad was free he was very friendly and took the time to show me what he had in stock as well as giving me a insight in the background of some of the bats he had in stock. Which was very interesting. We discussed the forum as well as local players who we both know and have played with and against.
I went to buy some new aero strippers, socks and some sunglasses however very nearly brought a new bat but my wife's voice was in my head and I thought better of it haha (but may have the green light to go back ).

The store is like a cricketers "Aladdins Cave" it's full of hidden treasures and gems! The feedback from other forum members are very true they don't sell poor bats they only stock the best - and what I saw today I believe to certainly be case. Some beautiful bats

I certainly will be buying all my sorts bats etc from there from now on as I am sure that if Asad hasn't got it in stock he could get it for me

Thank you for an enjoyable visit I can't recommend them highly enough

It was good to meet you and I am glad you enjoyed your visit.  It is always good to meet up with Forum guys who are local to us. The other forum member who visited us was @Maverick79 .

Popped in to see Asad to check on our teamwear order as I'm on a short break with family staying nearby. 'Popping in' lasted 3 hours, always great to have a look at the incredible range of high quality willow Asad has and then spent the remaining time talking about all sorts of cricket related stuff. Picked up a couple of things but no major purchases this time.

@velvetsky01 good to meet you, albeit briefly. Takes a strong man to resist the H4L's Asad had in stock! Think you may have had one of my bats a while back via eBay as I recognise your username

@Maverick79 yes was good to meet you too. Yes I thought so - was that the H4L NV or the m&h solution? Either way they were both very good to me last year

As for the current h4l Asad has in stock - it does take a strong man to do so....however I do not think that is me as I am very close to pulling the trigger on one I saw - just need "official clearance" haha

Would have been the NV, glad it went well for you. There was a lovely looking G2 Warbird as well as some huge 'monsters' - hope you get your 'official clearance' soon!  :)
