Millichamp & Hall was selling a big bat weighing 2-10/2-11. I called up. I was told it was made in a batch for Chris Gayle who took/bought the heavy ones weighing 3 lb and left a couple of light ones behind. Those light ones were the bats sold online by M&H.

MY vote is for Gayle. Warner uses bats made from over-dried clefts and don't weigh more than 2-11, I think.

PS: I own the Muelmann replica of Davey Warner, made by Krantzbuhler, it is a huge bat and an exact replica of Warner bat except for the cleft and weight - Warner's bats are made from dried class which tend to be very light. As far as I know, Spartan does not make their own bats. It is basically a sticker company. And from what I heard from Millichamp & Hall, Gayle bought their bats and  probably stickered them up and use them as Spartan bats.

So Warner uses a 2lb14 SSH bat with 50mm edges.
The Warner replica is a 2lb14 SSH with 50mm edges.
What's the difference?  ???

As for Gayle and M&H, do SS make LB LH 3lb beasts?  ;)
If you knew a player likes big heavy bats, why would they offer one that weighs 2lb10? Nice story to help sell their bats but doesn't quite add up...

The Warner replicas are heavier than what Warner uses because of the overdried clefts. Warner DOES NOT use 2-13/2-14 bats.

I am not cynical about M&H. There were only two bats that were up for sale from the Gayle batch and were advertised on their Facebook page( not as Gayle bats but as oversized International bats - the person on the phone shared the backstory story when I probed). Performance of their bats speak for themselves and I have no reason to doubt what was shared with me by their man on the phone.

I also have a B3 sample that was made for a currently playing international player but in a different weight. Should I start singing "doesn't add up" mantra about that too.

I thought Spartan did have a batmaker in Australia who makes for most of their pros? The rest of the stuff and everything available to us as consumers is stickered up Indian made (mainly SS) bats

M&H probably had a really good deal going on a storm damaged no warranty 2lb10 which they thought they could shift to this Gayle chap.  Only £400 quid, a steal at that price.

I don't think we will ever see there true bats in the shop.

My friends dad worked for wolfblass wine and when the aussies where over her for the 13 series he became quite good friends with David Warner and he left a bat behind for him.

Its proper light so 2'9 1/2 and handle is wafer thin like a Spartan.

And I don't think they knock them in as we took it to the nets and hit a couple of balls with it and it pinged but seam marked everywhere and even cracked aha
