My Helmet
« on: March 02, 2016, 10:50:31 AM »

So - it looks like I managed to leave my old helmet at the Dummer net. It was one of the old plastic Albion ones, and I really liked it.

I don't use a helmet very much at all, and I play at a very crap level, so I don't want to spend toomuch money on one. I don't like the cloth-covered ones at all, so apart from the Albion plastic one, are there any other plastic-type ones I should consider that are good value?

You could ask TomTek nicely if he has anything suitable if you want a funky shaped one.

Other than that it could be worth looking at the sports direct helmets, they used to do a Slazenger that looked just like an Albion

I clicked on this with a certain level of worry to what 'My Helmet' was referring to...

I think Kookaburra done a plastic one at a reasonable price.

I have an albion helmet pretty much same as this one, not used a great deal, still got the extra padding which is still in the packet. You can have it for free if you are willing to cover the postage. Only thing that might put you off is that it is white. Maybe not for everyone.

Same. The only difference is that I left disappointed.

Hi Bruce,

There's always the 'GM Purist Geo' helmet, which is reasonably priced; it conforms to the new standards and has a non-material finish.

Cheers,

I can't take any thread seriously when it involves @FattusCattus and the word helmet.

I do however have a Black Albion Elite Ti22 I'd be willing to part with for minimal money - it's just gathering dust now since getting a Ti grill on my Ayrtek. The Albion weighs basically nothing and is still in good nick (doesn't smell either so that's a win win).

Depends how much you want to pay really. If your looking for a new one and want to keep up with the the cool kids, The Masuri VS Club helmet is around £75? Only available in steel though, and for how often you'd wear it, I'd go second hand.

Wouldn't all Masuri's helmets look like the VS club underneath the cloth cover? Who fancies cutting theirs off to find out? 😄

Pretty sure you lost it on purpose just to create this thread title. Genuinely worried when I opened it  :(

I'm afraid the fun police on here ruthlessly supress any genuine plum or helmet threads!
