Experiences with sourcing and installation of net facilities
« on: December 30, 2015, 12:39:08 AM »

Hi All, hope you have Christmassed well and are geared up for the 2016 season ahead.

My club are beginning to look seriously at the possibility of new permanent nets being installed at our ground.
Does anyone have any advice / experience they would be willing to share when looking around for companies to provide and install the equipment as well as seeking funding for such a project?

Thanks for looking  :)

South Wilts CC (Salisbury) have just used http://www.total-play.co.uk/. They've done a great job and were very helpful and responsive.

Our friends Durant Cricket will sort you out. They can also help with securing grants/funding.

Phil, not sure who did ours but speak to Colley as he sorted it all out....was an ECB approved installer due to us getting the grant for it all.

We had a double lane net similar to that and that was circa £50k

Ours were around £25-35k but we did some of the ground work ourselves and they were working with an existing set of nets. There are grants available from many places. We're lucky that our Club Committee are grant wizards. We also asked local businesses to support.

Hi Phil,
Being a yokel, and knowing the delightful little scrotes that congregate at your place, how are you planning on keeping the nets safe?
