New Kookaburra Ghost Pro
« on: January 25, 2016, 05:41:32 PM »

Picked this little beauty a little while ago straight from the factory (only a 10 minute drive from me). I saw quite a few bats but I like this one the best. Lovely grain and taps up really well despite it only weighing under 2.7! Picks up really well as well even though it lights enough already. Bit different to the normal ghost shape, more of an instinct shape. The finish is really clean and I personally love the ghost stickers. I don't think you can get the pro grade for the ghost from retailers, just for sponsored players or team kookaburra players. Knocked it in now and can't wait to use it in the nets! Still deciding my match bat yet, kook or blueroom? Enjoy the pics :)

Edge: 30mm
Spine: 58mm
Grains: 13, pretty clean and straight. All sapwood
Handle: semi oval imo
Concaving: None

Nice grains as expected, but yes thats just the typical sponsored players shape, nothing like the ghost.

Gorgeous bat, the Ghost stickers look stunning.

Is it possible to visit the Kookaburra @Centurion or do you have special contacts?

Im sponsored by them (50%) so they let team kookaburra players go to the factory.

Lovely bat, I miss the days when it seemed like every Kook you saw was an absolute gun in a variation on this shape! Kookaburra confuses me endlessly, every time you see a pro issue bat someone's got hold of or international players using them on TV they're a lovely full shape with a long middle like this, exactly like their bats were 10 years ago. At least they're getting back to making some better shapes now, but they really did spend a long time spoiling their reputation by making heavily concaved bats that usually only lasted a season.

Yeah I hated those really concaved bats and it put me off them to be honest but I really like the new shapes and the use of very minimal concaving. It seems like the market is moving away from heavily concaved bats and moving towards more traditional profiles, which in my opinion, are much better. I saw quite a few good bats there and might pick out another just before the season. CBF Disease... So many bats!!!
