Off to Worcester today on business, and thought I might have time to pop into Fearnley for a browse, as well as New Road. Anywhere else worth a look?

Cardinals Hat is one of the oldest pubs in the country, great beer and proper bar snacks!


Failing that there is Hawk about 25 mins away and an old school sports shop just outside the Crowngate shopping centre. It normally has a dozen or so bats in.

If you have the time you could ring in advance and request a Batmaking tour it's free but Fearnley usually request more than one person person on the tour.
Or you could call in to the Old forge  at Belbroughton and Ask Mike or Rob to show you  around there facility they normally have a range of handmades on display in the shop.

Try and find out lots of juicy goss, where they source willow, how they press, etc
Quite fancy a trip over myself sometime

Hi Mate,
I went to Hawk in worcester yesterday! Lovely set up , make their own bats! Make there bats for KP out there, worth a visit!

did you pop in to new road @FattusCattus i was there most of the day working in the lovely sunshine. only issue was the chance to shine people with the 80 kids running around

I think it's really good that  at Hawk you can go into the cleft store  get advice  and select your own clefts.
