SG Sierra 350 from OLS at £85
« on: June 03, 2016, 11:42:54 AM »

Hi guys! A tiny unprofessional review of the Sierra 350. Brought one to the stable, as people stated it was like the ghost. See for yourself.

Weight: 2:10.75
Edge: 44mm
Spine: 64mm
Toe: 23mm
Shoulder: 15mm
Profile: mid
Grains: 13 (14 if you count the misgrowth) And 2-3 blemishes, 1 watermark
Finish: Ok, but could have used a bit of work on the back, as it was not particularly smooth.
Handle: Sadly, round. would say medium thickness.
Ping: Feels good, solid over most of the face, no real seam marks or indentations. Sounds good with a new ball on it. Quite impressed actually.
Pickup: Feels good in the hands, picks up well for its sheer size - but dont most full mid profiles do this? Not gonna say it feels like 2.7 or anything.

Face:

Profile:

Elastic Band measuring:

Bow:

Handle - sideways:

Grains shot:

Looks fantastic value for 85 sheets. Who is OLS out of interest?

Great buy. From the looks of the rubber band comparison, there isn't much tapering?

Practically none.. It's a big bat.

Just looks like a wonderful bat, and even better at that price.

These bats seem to be a popular choice at OLS. How did your find the performance? Apt for the price or too good for the price? Are they worthy of being someone's match bat?

I was close to keeping it as a match bat. But my current bats are a CA 15000 plus limited, and a Salix Præstintia. Which both were just a tad pingier than the SG.
For 85 pounds, the middle is very big. Used it for catching drills, and could easily hit 50+(edited from 65+ since I forgot it was the short boundary!) meters consistently in the air without breaking a sweat.
