As I'm on a bit of a roll with reviewing gears today I thought I'd do a quick review on a bag.

My hunt for the "perfect" bag has been seemingly never ending. I've tried carry bags, wheelies and duffles without ever finding "the one".
I thought the H4L big duffle was idea, but I've ended up being a nominated driver, and with boot space at a premium I had to downsize

With my latest fling with Hunts County I thought I'd try one of their bags to go with the rest of my kit. I went for the Aura because it wasn't stupidly big, yet the dimensions made me think it would have enough room to hold everything I carry on match day.

From the Hunts website:

Large wheeled holdall. PVC backed nylon fabric.
Unique multi compartment design incorporating two padded internal bat pockets. Large main storage area with side accessory compartments. Grip straps, solid waterproof base. Blue/Green/Black.
Sizes: 90cm x 30cm x 45cm

The internal bat pockets are in a compartment on one side, with the bats going one on top of the other.
The main compartment is the main storage area, with no dividers or anything so you can get plenty in there.
On either side there is a small exterior pocket that isn't overly deep, and there is a small valuables pocket next to the drag handle.



So far so good, I was very impressed with the layout and the way the bag utilises all the space on offer.
However, I wasn't overly keen on storing my bats in the side compartment. I decided that I'd like to keep my clothes separate from the main compartment .
I therefore used the side bat compartment to store my match day clothes, wash kit, a couple of balls, flip flops and a grip cone.
I then put my bats in the main compartment in bat sleeves. I wanted to keep them here as I felt they were less likely to be damaged in the main section of the bag than stored in the side.

I took this picture this morning just before I left for todays game, so for reference the contents are:
2 bats, 2 pairs of batting gloves, batting pads, masuri lid plus stem guard, large P2 strippers, aero box, grip cone, oakley radars (in their hard case), 3 balls, a wash kit, 2 towels, 2 playing shirts, 2 pairs of trousers, a warm up shirt, pair of shorts, aero batting shorts, a sleeveless jumper and my spikes.



As you can see from the above list the bag holds plenty of kit quite comfortably, without being overly huge. I'm very impressed with how the space available is utilised even with the minimal separation of compartments.

Now for a couple of bits I'd done slightly differently (I was always going to find something about a bag!)
I think the bat section is a good idea, but I'd prefer a bit more padding if I was going to store my bats there on match day.
The side compartments are a nice addition but are too tight to actually store anything. If these were a bit looser then  could have used one of these for a grip cone and spare grips, while the other side could store bat tape, and the tape and supports I use to hold me together.
I'm sure the grip straps are a good addition, but I cannot for the life of me think of a practical use for them!

Overall this is a decent quality wheelie bag that holds plenty if kit, but could be improved with some minor tweaks.
