It was my birthday on Tuesday and my wife carried on her impressive record of birthday/fathers day cricket gifts with a visit down to
@hell4leather cricket. We moved in March to Ashford meaning H4L are a 20 minute drive away. Went down and saw Matt and chatted for a good hour or so about a variety of things (the local cricket gossip, business, the cricket industry to name a few). There were some already knocked in bats to choose from and was torn between a beautiful NV G1 which was massive for its 2lb 8oz weight or a Warbird G1. Looking at the bat i thought it would weigh far too much for me despite it picking up nicely. When i got it on the scales it was 2lb 10.5 oz which really surprised me. I ended up going for the Warbird as the more i swung it around and tapped it up i couldn't put it down. Decided to get the custom softs and gloves too which even with their aesthetically pleasing appearance are extremely comfortable straight out of the packet (especially the pads).
I'll get some proper pictures up shortly but here is one i put on twitter
Thanks again to Matt for taking his time out of his day to show me and the kids around the workshop. If you ever need a Saturday apprentice you know where i am
