Looking for a Club in the Milton Keynes Area
« on: June 26, 2016, 11:53:53 AM »

Hi All,

Wife has got a promotion and we are off to Milton Keynes late August. Any recommendations for a decent club? Ideally like a club that plays both days at the weekend but not vital. Would be good to get a few games in during September if possible.

Can help you out on Saturdays mate as discussed. Sunday's not so much unless you want two clubs. Not a huge amount of friendly Sunday stuff. Odd league but that's about it

Where are you moving too? We're about 30 mins from MK and play both days + midweek.

Plenty of clubs within 30/40 mins drive in the Northants leagues, just depends on your criteria for each club

North MK, near Wolverton.

North MK, near Wolverton.

Erm, Wolverton has traditionally been a very good club.

Given I probably won't be available until early September I asked around a few clubs. Quite interesting the speed of response. I've always tried to respond asap to any player enquiry as it's like gold dust, but it's been a struggle so far to get any response from clubs. I had one club, on the second email to a different address come back to me after 5 days and another not respond at all. I think to get a saturday game might be tricky in September so I could be travelling for a game and guesting.

@jamielsn15 @Calzehbhoy whereabouts are you?

Syresham, just south of Silverstone in south northants. 1sts in the prem, winners in 2015 and 2nds in div 3 and one win from promotion, www.sncl.co.uk

Great club, great lads, superb set up at the club, thirty quid annual sign on gets you full set of adidas kit, baggy green, great batting track and widely acknowledged as the best teas in the entire league!

Always on the look out for good reliable players... No games in Sept as season finishes 27th Aug.

We're in Blunham @uknsaunders it may be a bit of a drive from Wolverton though (See link below). If you're happy with the drive I'm more than happy to get somebody from the club to contact you :)

https://www.google.co.uk/maps/dir/Blunham,+UK/Wolverton,+UK/@52.087514,-0.8469277,10z/data=!3m1!4b1!4m14!4m13!1m5!1m1!1s0x4877c903210b2cc9:0x36f769e847ad213f!2m2!1d-0.3172629!2d52.1467759!1m5!1m1!1s0x48770050ac65d311:0x1460ebf8fa1132eb!2m2!1d-0.816221!2d52.062458!3e0

First XI currently play Tucker 1 on Saturdays (One level below ECB prem), 2s are 3 div's below that, 3s 2 more div's below & 4s play in an invitation league. On Sundays we have one side in Div 3 of the Beds league.

Cheers Guys. Possibly both a bit far away given I'd like to get down and net in the evenings. I'll have a think about it but if you have any games in Sept and are short let me know.

I did think when you said Wolverton it might be a bit far. There are some nice clubs in and around MK.
