What's the Best toe guard

Hey there all just got a brand new bat with no toe guard on it and was just wondering what is the best one out there to use,  :DI have used shoe goo in the past but it wears off after a wile on the Astro pitchs any advise  :D :D cheers

I never bother with one to be honest mate, better off just sanding it down when it looks like it needs it.

I like rubber toe guards, I know a lot of people don't but playing on a lot of dry hard wickets it really helps stop toe feathering and small cracks.

Slazenger do a set that comes with glue and sandpaper. Not much choice on the colours but they stick really well. Only problem you may find is that they are very "Grippy", so sliding your bat into the crease going for a quick single sometimes means you dig in. I think on Astro you could do with a smooth guard, so Slazenger may not be for you.

I've heard good reports on Gm toe guards. Personally I use the ones on e bay and a bit of locktite. Never had on peel away

On my purist that I recently sold it had the original toe guard on from when it was bought (circa 2004).

I had a toe guard put on a new bat a couple of years ago by Newbery, which was hanging off the first innings I played. Shoe glue was applied after that and it lasted pretty well.

Ronseal outdoor wood varnish

Cheap as chips, looks nice and neat, keeps any moisture out without adding any significant weight, and you just apply another coat when it starts wearing off.

I use yacht varnish... If it keeps a boat permanently dry under water then a bit of moisture shouldn't be an issue

i put on 3 layers of shoe goo on the first game of the season, it has easily lasted throughout the whole season without any problems, so much better than a toeguardp

No Toe Guard just sand and 2 drops of linseed oil every two weeks

I found them to be okay on a flare that I had and an Octane. I have a couple of Puma bats and their toe guards are quite durable. Coming from the same place, I think they and slazenger ones would be good for sure.

From what I understand they can only be used on used bats, are very messy to do as involves epoxy and you also need a broken/old bat handle which not everyone is going to have
