I would have a five-prong pace attack and use part time spinners lol

I would have Thomson, Ambrose, Akhtar, Akram and Walsh

All very new and contemporary (relatively speaking)

How about the England attack that won the Bodyline series- especially Larwood?

Fred Trueman/ Frank Tyson/ Brian Statham

Marshall/ Holding/ Roberts- most west indians from the 70s and 80s take some beating.

The greatest fast bowler of all time has to be Harold Larwood.....95+ mph on uncovered pitches, add to that he was only 5'7 so the short stuff came at you like an exocet!!! makes you wonder what he would be like with today's training and diets!

I found his life story pretty sad, he took all the flak for body line in this country and ironically was hailed a hero by the Aussies when he retired there!!! unbelievable talent and should be hailed as one of the greatest English cricketers of all time!!!

Young quickies could learn so much from studying him and the likes of Holding. Its not brute force that achieves pace. Its rhythm and timming, also notice how they carry their speed through the crease.......Shame such a talent is virtually lost on today's generation! Watch these guys and you will learn so much...Fred Truman and Brian Statham aswell! As for Batsman I wonder how many youngsters have heard of Hanif Mohamed???

I thought about Tyson and Larwood. Watching the old slo motion of their action is amazing.

Bradman described in his book "the art of cricket" the way Tyson hurled himself at the batsmen......the best way to describe his impeccible follow through.

Is it just assumed fact that Larwood was around 95mph?

If the pre/post war guys were as quick as they say they were.

Tyson, Lindwall, Larwood and Wes Hall. End of chapter.

They have put films of Larwood through digital process and his cruising speeds were around 90mph but during the Bodyline footage his avarage was up at 95mph! so there must have been deliveries above the ton mark....which the more you think of it the more increadble it is for 1932! i mean the canvas and leather soled boots alone must of hampered him!!!
