Kookaburra Visit
« on: December 05, 2016, 06:04:29 PM »

I have just returned from Kookaburra HQ with a selection of mostly Ghosts and Kahuna Obscene/Xtreme bats in tow. We went heavy into those ranges for our initial pre christmas orders, but as always with Kookaburra we are one of, if not the most local retailer to their facility, so if you want a Surge or Blaze etc we can go and pick one for you at the drop of a hat.

Photos of some of my favourite bats to follow when i've sorted out our pre-order customers

As mentioned we took mostly Ghosts and Kahuna Xtreme/Obscene bats for pre-christmas, will get more of the rest of the ranges in the new year.

The Xtreme/Obscenes do live up to the name!

This is probably the best looking Xtreme i came across.

This Obscene is absolutely massive!

We've got lots of Ghosts across the 200, 600, 1000 and Pro grades, mostly 2'11-2'12 with the odd exception, just send me a message if you want to discuss a specific grade. We do also have some Ghost Lite bats as low as 2'7 but these aren't the same shape/size as the rest of the Ghosts.

Lightest Ghost Pro i could find, 2'10

Ghost 200, not bad for £100 at 2'9!

This Kahuna Obscene has some unusual markings alongside our old friend RJH (click here), i saw this on only a couple of other Xtreme/Obscene bats out of the dozens and dozens i went through, not sure what to make of it but interesting nonetheless.

The willow doesn't look that clean. If SG still makes kook, then SG low end bats are way better looking that Kook mid level range.

I assume the kahuna extreme are all 3lb plus beasts, must say the branding is better this year in my opinion, not the prettiest some of the lower end offerings compared to other brands but always seem to play well Kook bats, the most common brand at my club for sure 3i think used the ghost last year and all went very well

The obscenes look rather nice, are the handles still disappointingly round and thin? Look a very different shape to the old Big Kahunas, any thoughts on comparison?

Handles on the Xtreme and Obscene bats are reasonably thick ovals.

Yes the return of the Big/Bigger/Biggest Kahuna range has seen a rebrand, they are now known as Kahuna Xtreme and Kahuna Obscene, some photos are in my first post.

Its a smaller profile and a different shape, still very full and a big bat in its own right, 2'8 and a bit on the left and the one on the right is exactly 2'7.
