New (But used) Warbird
« on: May 03, 2017, 08:12:10 AM »

Hi Guys

Just wanted to share my new ebay purchase with you - Stunning grains for a G2 bat

2lb 7oz which as you can picks up as light as a feather (we shall see if it is too light when I use it) also not sure on the thinness of the handle but it certainly feels like it may need 3 grips rather than my usual 2. taps up really well and bouncing a ball on it pings great response.  Really pleased with it and after giving it a sand has come out well

Heres the what it looked like to start with

A slight crack (but really nothing to worry about) also the reason this is a G2 not a G1

After sanding

The Toe

The toe after a good sand

The Bat after a coat of wax

Will do the back of the bat this evening as well as Shoe Gooing the Toe

There were quite a few seam marks by the looks of it!
And you are right - decent looking for G2.

Hope it goes well as I'm sure it will. Keep the photos coming  :D

yes quite a lot of seam marks - the chap I bought it from said he used it as he was told it was knocked in - but after using it could clearly see it wasn't knocked in enough so has told me he did a further 2 hours on it - so il use it at practice tomorrow to see how it goes may need a bit more time - but was bought as a spare really as my H4L NV is going great guns at the moment feel really good with it currently

Is the concaving uneven? Looks that way from the toe-up picture!

nice find. came up fine. I know they perform but I find the looks of H4L a bit average considering the price. That G2 looks better than the G1. I think you did very well. whichbat picks up better of those two?

Thanks Sarg yes I agree the grains on the warbird are a lot straighter than the G2

the warbird is literay like picking up air its soo light and very well balanced
the nv picks up very well also and is 2.10oz but I have become used to the weight and pickup of the NV having had it a couple of seasons now it performs very well in matches.
I will be giving the warbird ago this evening at training be interested to see how it performs

had my first net with the warbird - mixed feelings.

It is very light so didn't time the ball as well as I have been of late with my NV. I also swapped between the warbird and NV. when I did play the ball with the middle of the bat it played very nicely. The middle isn't as well spread as the NV tho and miss timed shots towards the bottom of the bat do not seem to go anywhere - the duck bill is the reason for this I am sure.

this particular bat does still need some knocking in as there were some seam marks present at the end. but will be a good spare and might even be my new wet weather bat once its knocked in. but no rush in doing this.
