One for the batmakers / repairers,

I've got a bat that has a broken handle. Effectively the layers of cane & rubber that make up the handle have delaminated.

It's got a really whippy handle, but its a bit much now! Is this something that can just be PVA'd, clamped, bound & used, or is it a bit more complicated owing to the rubber in the handle, and the inherent flex in a handle?

Providing the inserts and the cane  are in good condition it's an easy handle repair as for the wippyness that should  cease  unless the handle is loose in the vee.

Yeah, they're in perfect condition.

Literally just came apart from each other, which was weird. Any idea what might be the cause of it? Or is it just one of those things?

Leaning hard on your bat hitting the ball on the bat shoulders or the vee or the handle hitting the ball with the toe of the bat sending vibration up the blade into the handle standing on the handle ( some players stand on there handles) glue melted or dryed out knocking the wickets in the ground with the bat handle  Wear and tear but as everything is okay  just strip down reglue and rebind tight then give the binding a coat of Pva you could also secure the inserts by wrapping the handle tight with medical tape or bat repair tape before rebinding
