The remarkable rise and drop off in performance was staggering.

Hopefully the delay means it won't get overturned on appeal as they have done a good job in checking everything properly.

I think this is unlikely though :(

He hasn't been banned for doping has he?

It looks like the ban is for not logging his whereabouts so he could be tested and missing 3 tests not doping

Should have used the same excuse as mo farah, didn't hear his door bell. Missing dope tests did wonders for him didn't it

Russell wasn't banned for missing tests. Here's a description of his offence:

"WADA rules state that athletes across all sports must inform their local anti-doping agencies where they will be for at least one hour each day to facilitate drug tests."

This is from the ASADA site:

"Violation of applicable requirements regarding athlete availability for out-of-competition testing...
...including failure to file required whereabouts information and missed tests which are declared based on rules which comply with the International Standard for Testing.

Any combination of three missed tests and/or filing failures within a twelve-month period as determined by Anti-Doping Organisations with jurisdiction over the athlete shall constitute an Anti-Doping Rule Violation.

Athletes who are part of the Registered Testing Pool (RTP) need to let us know where they are going to be, at specific times, so that we can perform no-advance notice testing. If athletes in the RTP do not provide current and accurate whereabouts information, they may incur a declaration and three declarations in 12 months may lead to an anti-doping rule violation."

He screwed up his paperwork. I guess when you're travelling the world playing cricket it would be easy enough to forget but doing it three times is pretty sloppy so he has to cop the punishment.

Don't make excuses for him, he knew what he had to do and he failed to do it on 3 separate occasions, once could be put down to a lapse in memory but if it happened twice you would, knowing the consequences, make damn sure it didn't happen a third time. Unless you had something to hide of course.

He didn't file his where abouts on

Jan 1st
July 1st
July 25th

He did file his where about for every other day inbetween.

Can I ask the people that are adamant he is doping, what drugs and what benifits from those drugs they think he will have received on 3 random days and not on any other day?

To me Jan first is probably cos he was taking something at a New Year's Eve party for entertainment purposes.

I'm not adamant he's doping but it's either that or he's just an idiot. If he's not doping there's only two other reasons, he took banned recreational drugs or he forgot, either way he's a pillock.
