Bat Refurbishment
« on: February 13, 2017, 04:06:50 PM »

Was just wondering if anyone can give me some advice.  I have a gray Nicolls supernova which last year never really pinged and ended up changing bats early on in the season.  Since then I bought 2 more bats which I'm very excited to use.  But since I've been netting the supernova has completely changed and the ball is flying of it had this happen to a few bats that have taken a while to get going. I usually do I my own refurbishment but this time I might send it off to gray Nicolls themselves to do it. Was wondering how have people found their service? Also has anyone noticed a change in performance after refurbishment? My concern is that I think the bat is at its best point and if I get it refurbished it might change which if that's the case I'll wait another year.

It's reasonably priced I believe probably around £40 for the service and return delivery plus what you pay sending it there, it'll probably come back with a toe wrap mind, as for performance I've done a lot of refurbs and not found any significant change in performance

It's like a cotton toe wrap- it was said tongue in cheek as a few refurbs from them seem to get them out on for no reason.

As for the name under the sticker, any chance of photos?

Has what looks like an i or 1 on one shoulder and a u or n on the other shoulder hopefully the picture I've attached works with the writing.  Also has number 10714-50 on the handle.  I'm the only owner so I know it can't have been anyone else that put it on there.

Bought it from Romida.  Ironically now I've had a good look I've noticed a bit of a break by the toe so will most likely send it off to them get it ready for the season.
