As some of you will have seen, I picked up a new GN Powerbow 300 yesterday.
http://custombats.co.uk/cbforum/index.php?topic=41655.0There is a bit of a back story to this one. I have no idea if said story is true or not but it's always nice to have a little anecdote attached to your willow.
This bat arrived at Serious Cricket with another Powerboat 300. They were both marked "J. Hildreth". The shopkeeper took the other one, and this one has been on the shelf unsold since (how, I have no idea!)
Anyway, pro bat or not the response was excellent which is why I had to buy it.
Weight: 2lb10 exactly
Grains: 25
Edge peak: 34mm
Edges at shoulder: 12mm
Edges at toe: 20mm
Peak of toe: 23.5mm
Spine peak 59mm
This bat has a high middle so picks up very well for the dead weight. I won't claim it picks up 3oz lighter or anything like that, but it's very well balanced.
The toe is dead, as you'd expect. 40mm up from the toe the blade starts to respond and it does so virtually up to the powerboat sticker (365mm from the toe).
The pingiest bit of the bad is an area from 155mm from the toe to 235mm from the toe.
My only complaint is that the stickers are lifting slightly on the face and edges near the shoulders, but that can be easily sorted.
Anyway enough waffle, time for the pictures.
And a quick video of it being tapped up
