CP Sponsorship
« on: February 09, 2017, 01:42:27 PM »

CP cricket offered me a pretty good sponsorship and I would like to know how good their gear is. Also, are they one of those companies that basically give out sponsorships to everyone?

FYI I am a decent young cricketer but not quite at a state level in Australia.

If they are offering free kit then take it.

I think the CP kit looks decent enough, relatively generic softs and nice looking willow.

We have in the past seen a few posts similar to this and having discussed this and read answers to similar posts, I would look at it differently. You have probably asked for the deal from them so it could be a bit churlish to say no at this point.
But my point is, ask yourself what you can do for your new sponsor, can you market their kit for them can you open new doors for them and what can you achieve to repay the faith your new sponsors are putting in you.

I have their CP Epic cricket bat and it is an absolute belter. Great balance and pick up. Amazing ping as well.

Seen of their gear and it definitely looks good. The bats are very good cosmetically and the odd one I have seen in action has been decent.

Pretty sure most "small" companies will be happy to offer "sponsorships" to players of all ability.

By sponsorship I assume you emailed them and they're offering you ××% off RRP?

Same reply as per Tazz sponsorship.
I coach some young players who have received their first sponsorship in aus. Most of which are State  players under 17 or 19's. They get about $2000 a year which they can spend on from certain shops, obviously sponsors kit, does not go far. In fact I know a couple who just use their softs and sticker up bats as they don't get enough to cover it all.
My suggestion would be buy gear that works for you, train hard and once you are worthy of a true sponsorship send out a couple of emails to kooka/GN etc.
There are many small brands(KD etc) which will offer % off expensive gear to any rep. player under 12s up, not worth it mate.
