My mongoose MMI3
« on: April 30, 2017, 01:59:05 PM »

I bought this off of eBay following a tip off from Tom on here.
Specs
Edge: 35mm
Shoulder: 35mm
Toe: 35mm
Spine: 60mm
Weight 2lb14oz
Handle -uber thick for my girl sized hands
Cost inc. delivery - £45

6 evenly spaced, fairly straightt grains. Slight blemish towards the outside edge.

Stickers in very good condition, only missing the 2nd from bottom stripe

Gentle bow

Toe in great shape and shows little use

Seam marks show more knocking in is needed

How size wise it compares to some of my others

Overall
It is in excellent condition despite a few minor scrapes on the back. I have since given it a rub down and oil. I have used it in the nets and it goes quite well, though more knocking in should yield improved performance. I like the fact that it is heavy and I understand the need for a thick handle but with my youth sized hands it would ideally be a bit thinner.
Could it realistically be used in a match? Our pitch is slow and low, you rarely cut or pull as the ball just doesn't get up, so therefore it is a realistic choice for a match bat. It won't get a league appearance, but it will make it to a friendly game or two.
Does anyone know what MMI stands for?

It looks like the evolution of a cricket bat. I wonder what grade it was? Prime -4 Series -3 Premium -2 Super Premium 1. I'm guessing Series.

Quite a bargain.
