Comeback when you've grown half a brain

Liam Dawson offers nothing to English cricket? Who's the one lacking a brain?

And who would they have dropped for him? Going into a game in April in England with only 3 pace bowlers? Or going in with a very long tail by dropping a batsman (and that being another talented youngster in Alsop). Dropping Dawson after his performances in recent years wasn't going to happen.

Wheal hardly seemed to be used, so there was obviously at least one option.  Or leave Ervine out?

Wheal picked up a side strain early on in the 2nd innings hence his lack of overs (and the amount of overs Ervine bowled).

Ervine was our highest FC run scorer last season by a margin of nearly 200 runs (1090 @ 57.36), would be very harsh to drop him and would also leave a pretty long tail.

Better than leaving out your most likely (non Yarpie) match winner, I'd have thought, but it's a matter of opinion I guess.

Playing devils advocate, you can hardly blame Hampshire when they see how counties who do nurture England players are treated...
I agree Lancashire year after year suffering
