GN XP70 (650) Review
« on: June 30, 2017, 04:06:38 PM »

Thanks to a fellow forum member, I picked up this bat from Kingsgrove Sports couple of days ago. I always wanted to try XP70/XP80 but most recently have become very reluctant to pay more than $300 for any bat. Discounted price on this bat was a good opportunity to test XP70 range.

Grade: 3
Edge: 31
Toe: 13
Spine: Nowhere near 70mms. Not sure how they blatantly advertise that all XP70s have 70mms peak. Also possible that I messed up with the measurements.
Weight: 2/8.5
Thin oval handle
Blemish on the playing area
Price: USD115 + shipping to the USA

Picks up very nice,  Pings okay, Have not had any nets so far.

Overall, for the price, can't complain much.

All of these i saw were nothing  like the top of the line xp70s... bot 70mm spine , hard press , different shaped handle , differnt shape (middle not looking as long ) etc. But if you're happy with it for the price , well , all good.

I ordered one too but it didn't suit the pitches in States so sold it and got myself a halestorm with 52 mm edge.

@InternalTraining yes 52 mm edge but I didn't measure toe yet. Will measure it later for you.

@Calzehbhoy around 2.12.

One of my mates retired and was selling about 7 top of the range bats. I bought all of them. Including GN pro performance bat.

I measured the toe and it is about 26mm.

Oh no , you're becoming a caricature of yourself now ..... everyone will be so unforgiving .
Cbf member 1 : "Ok , let's play some word association.... first word , 'InternalTraining '"
Cbf member 2 : "Um..... 'how big is the toe on that bat'"

I get it though..... in his defence,  he is looking for a big xp80 replacement with a bigger toe , so it's on his mind . But , still , it's so funny .  :D :D

'How big is the bow? How is the ping?' Always include a separate mini-review for @InternalTraining  within my reviews, my way of showing love to all members of the community. ;) We all have our own preferences, his happens to be big bows and big toes. :D
