Saw this article on Club medium bowlers today and recognised myself and a few forumites in the different categories.

Which one are you, or should there be other categories to cover your 'special' way of bowling?   ;)

Pen me in under "Mystery Spinner".

If I don't know whether it'll land on the square, whether it'll spin, whether it'll bounce 4 times... then what chance does the batsman have?

I don't have a stock ball. They're all variations.

I dream of being Robo-Dob. I always get a sweat on when they come onto bowl. I played with one for years who bowled in a Ralph Lauren dress shirt and cuff links.

Where was the part timer?
If I don't know where it's going the batsman hasn't got any hope! Actually as there's no place to it they have time to pick it, decide where to hit it, adjust accordingly, wind up the back swing then dispatch it, but still... :-[

I'm a 'net' bowler. I bowl ok when I have the tunnel factor of a net. But when i bowl out in the middle the long hop drag downs and leg stump half volleys come out.

Personally Dibbly-Dob probably around 55-60mph at best and let the pitch do the rest, my bowling has had a bit of a come back this season as only had to keep in a couple of occcassions and getting back into the swing of things. Speared on by the memories of my mamouth after tea spell a few years ago now in a CBF game vs Matt at H4L side for the few that can lay claim to the greatest spell of Dibbly- Dob

Since seeing myself on video at a forum net and thanks to your evocative wounded rhino description Bruce I know I'm definitely a deluded dob  :)
