Regular vs Large Men ... what's the difference?
« on: February 15, 2018, 04:03:02 PM »

I am on the look out for a new pair of pads. My SS TON pads (OLS) have served me well and are still in good condition after 6 years of use. I was recently browsing online cricket stores and I came across pads for large men. I saw that come brands have standard men and large men sizes in pads. I have never felt like my TON pads are smaller ( I am 6'3") but seeing that there is a large men option had me intrigued.

Anyone here use large men sized pads? How different are they to the standard size and where is the difference? Are they a littler longer? Or wider? Or are they the same size as standard with longer straps? I am hoping they are wider and provide better side cover.

Any particular recommendations are also very welcome.

Well, many 'larger men' find improved angles and depths of penetration, whereas many 'regular' men have to be more creative with their positions.

At 6ft 3" I would definitely suggest you try using the large mens size pads. They would be longer, as opposed to being just wider and having longer straps.

I think it’s personal preference.

I’m 6’1 and have always preferred Indian Regular men’s size pads as they feel less bulky.

6ft 4 here and use some Kook pro issues atm, assuming std size.

Id always get as small pads as possible, umpires think the knee roll is the same on me as my mate of 5ft 5!

Thanks VKS. Do you have the VKS super lite pads in large men’s size? I have heard very good things from a friend who owns them in regular size.

Yes we have them available in Large Mens. Thanks to the design, they are not at all bulky and wrap really well around the legs.
