GM really must hate heartwood
« on: April 25, 2018, 07:48:16 PM »

Popped into Coe’s in Ipswich today (large department store) for new shoes and they have a large sports department which has I must say one of the best cricket selections I have seen 100 or so bats all from the main cricket brands no boutique brands but anyway when I was taking to the guy he said if you play local we offer 20% off to local league players.
Anyway came across this stunning GM Chrome 404 and compaired to all the others this isn’t bleached. Straight grains and even heartwood which I personally really like on my bats plus some graping towards the toe which to my mind adds strength now this was better than most 606,707 and 808 models they had and also for a low grade is light at 2.86 with the thick GM terrain grips for this year. Basically it appears GM really do not like heartwood as seem some lovely low grade options from them but for sub £80 seems a bargain and it taps up very well. Regretted selling my Chrome as used one as my match bat last year so who knows where this will end up in my pecking order of GM bats which is certainly my brand of choice again this year.
