High everyone,I have been given a Slazenger V1200 to refurb https://mrcricketshop.co.uk/product/v1200-hex-junior-bat/I have noticed that the Carbon rod seems to have fallen out and it is causing the handle to be very flexible. The rod is missing so my question is what could I put down it instead? Some glue maybe? Cheers.
I don't think these had a carbon insert. The Hex handle was hollow from the start. I bought three (G3?) V1200's for teammates when SD were selling them off for 25quid each. One of them went ok and I caught up with it a year later and the handle was making cracking noises and there was a lot of flex as you describe. Would be an interesting project to fill it like a carbon handle though. I wonder where you'd get a honeycomb tube that fits though or would filling it with resin be enough?
I think I'll go down the resin road and see how I get on. Maybe it was a hollow carbon rod then and that fell out.
You can buy small diameter carbon rods they are around £ 4.00 each
