GN scoop XV11 1000
« on: August 09, 2018, 09:57:46 AM »

a team mate I open the batting with at my club turned up with this bat last week

custom made and knocked in by GN robertsbridge at a cost of 640.00

comfortably the most expensive bat ive even seen anyone play with and it is absolutely stunning.

im very against expensive bats personally I use second hand damaged ones mainly but this is something else

so this post is nothing much other than.......sometimes very high end bats are truly special

ive got a damaged GN with a cracked handle for 30 quid off ebay, he was using at 640 quid custom made GN

we put on 150 in 14 overs of which he was 122 not out

he has the abilty I don't have to power the ball miles but the sound off this thing was amazing.  :)

havnt changed my mind myself(ive had 3 bats break in 3 years and im not convinced they make you play better  :) )

Clear and documented evidence that a new bat is indeed a viable solution to scoring more runs....

When overpowering shots, people lose their shape which kills the timing. With bats that have great ping/rebound, you don't overpower and maintain your shape which makes batting a total joy. Amazing bats don't come cheap.

that's an interesting way of looking at it. to be honest I hadn't considered that viewpoint.

there's def something in that way of thinking

I know how you feel carlo! When I open with Northern, it's a similar proportion of runs mate!
I normally have to give myself a kick up the jacksie when I realise he has already hit 5 or 6 boundaries and I am still on 0!!  :D

Isn't that usually after the first over and before you've had a chance to face though?  :D
