Anyone live near Redback Cricket?
« on: September 11, 2018, 08:00:04 AM »

Refurbing a Redback and when I got in touch they were happy to sell me a new set for stickers for it, however, since then I haven't had any response, just wondering if any forumers were ever in their workshop and could do me a favour and ask if they still sell sets or even pick me up a set.

They won't catch us this time! Not this time! They haven't spotted us! No, they're all snoring in their bunks! Or, you know what? They're drinking at the bar, celebrating our sinking! Not yet, my friends. Not yet!

I can't help with this specifically but I know Gary has nothing to do with production anymore (had the best bat I've had off Gary), he has moved to Australia I believe. I ordered their new Phoenix model off their facebook following the 're-launch' and was really disapointed with the bat I received, I paid a sale price of about £300 I think for their premium grade bat and when it arrived it was 3oz too light and the profile wasn't even from left to right at the toe. I emailed them and to be fair they said keep that bat and they would send me another one, the second bat turned up after about a month and it was hideous covered in knots and blemishes. Still the wrong weight and absolutely dead. Just a friendly warning if anyone is thinking of giving them a go.

It’s a real shame to hear about some recent experiences with Redback. I still maintain that the Paradox was one of the best profiles on a cricket bat. I used my Paradox until was falling apart. I hope the new owners don’t ruin a brilliant reputation that Gary had built.
