Just picked up two new keeley's last week. Sadly only one is for me, the 'yellow' worx is for a teammate, but from initial impressions they're both very impressive and mighty responsive.
When we bought them we didn't weigh them and they didn't have the weight on them, so just based it on feel, the old fashioned way. So when I got them home and weighed them I was shocked to see what the scales said, both are big bats but certainly feel lighter than they are. Don't get me wrong, you still know there is weight in your hands, not a feather by any stretch of the imagination but still good. Definitely some getting used to, as my current match bat is a 2'8 H4L Warbird (Could mean I end up selling it on
Both are regular 'SH' bats but have very different profiles on them. Both bat's have big edges and spines but my teammate's bat has a slightly smaller toe and thinner shoulders but all the wood is in the middle. My bat has a more even profile, running from the toe and into the handle. Feel this bat has a better pickup, due to this even profile. Handles on both bats feel quite thick, that may be because they're big bats or perhaps because of my small hands lol.
In regards to the grains, I prefer mine however I didn't pick it on this and rather on the feel. Although I prefer tighter grains, who doesn't really, I can live with these as they're straight and no real blemishes on the face. I do know TK is very strict on his grading so I have a feeling of what grade these would be but don't know for sure.
