Paul Collingwood BAS
« on: December 07, 2018, 11:41:36 AM »

Just managed to get my hands on one of Paul Collingwood's bats. As you'd imagine its pretty chunky. 26mm toe, 40mm edge, struggling to measure the spin as I don't have any callipers but its around 60mm. massively exaggerated duckbill profile, really drops away quickly. wondered why there was no 'BAS' stamp on the edge but did find some photos on his instagram showing off some new bats that didn't have any on.

Wheres the millions of grains on the bat? Cant be a pro bat! (JOKING!!!)  :)

Liking the shape. Is the handle completely round?

PS I think all pro bats have no edge stamp something to do with the ball tracking thingmigy!

Hahaha! Paul at IJC would be furious with it!

The handle is reasonably oval at the bottom.

Ah that makes sense, cheers!

Looks tremendous to me. What does it weigh out of curiosity? How'd you manage to get a hold of it?

It says 2lb 10oz on bottom of bat on the pic of Collingwood holding one. That shape is called The Pro Dolphin by what I can remember, coz it resembles a dolphins head shape. I refurbed one a while back.

Weighs 2,10. A mate does some refurbs for pros and managed to keep hold of this.

The profile shape looks interesting.

I would like to try the same shape but with 65 mm spine and 38 to 40 mm on the toe.

Will send the pic to a couple of guys to see what’s the lightest weight they can achieve on it?

Also, if you look the thinnest toe measures with the thickest edge size in the bat he is holding, and then compare it with the profile pic of the one you got hold of, they don’t seem similar - and then grips are different too. Are you sure it’s Paul’s personal batt? Just asking.

You can always change the grips on your bat by the way ;)
