Hello all,

Just trying to decide if I can avoid buying a completely new bat by reducing the weight in my current one. I've got one of the original Kookaburra Ghosts that is weighing in at 2.12.5 with two grips on. I'd like to take about 3-4 ounces off that and I'm happy for that to be taken by scalloping off the back or whatever is easiest. Are any of the pod shavers on here able to give a ballpark of roughly what that would cost? Obviously if it's going to be very expensive then I'll just wait out and put it towards a new stick as it wasn't that expensive in the first place.

Secondary to that does anybody have any recommendations for pod shavers in Hampshire/ Farnborough area?

You might get 2oz off, 3 plus is hard.

It's not gonna cost you that much and 3-4oz is doable (not always though), but bear in mind with that much coming off it may feel very different after the reduction. Not necessarily the end of the world, might even be you'd like a change in feel, but a factor to consider.

How do you do that? Just sand evenly across the back? I have an Amplus shape (at 2-13.4) that could lose another 2.4 ounces.

If you  want a lighter pickup start and concentrate on the toe  how much wood you remove from the toe depends on the toe thickness and pickup your after then remove wood  evenly from both sides of the spine but don't touch the spine also wouldn't touch the shoulders.
If ou haven't got a drawknife use a sander it just takes longer.
