Bat Making Tips

Hey Guys,

Just wondering if anybody could give me some tips on bat making?
Like what tools to use in certain parts of the job and how to use them.
And how should I achieve the shape I what, do I draw it onto the cleft?

Hope to hear from all people that have made a bat, I need as much help as I can get before I buy any tools or a cleft.
